Profile: Mark Geddes, Hearings Commissioner

Mark Geddes is a highly experienced planner with over 24 years of planning expertise in three countries, both in the public and private sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Resource Studies and a Masters of Science in Spatial Planning (First Class Honours). Mark is a Full Member of NZPI and an Accredited Independent Commissioner with the chair certification. Mark has chaired hearings for both district and regional council consents across the South Island. He has also been involved in hearings for major plan-making projects. He takes a collaborative approach to chairing hearings panels, relates well to diverse stakeholders, understands Te Ao Māori and provides comprehensive decisions.

Gemma Conlon is an accomplished Planner with over 24 years of experience in the private and public sectors across three countries. Her expertise spans resource management planning, development, and planning policy. Gemma holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning, Post Graduate Diplomas in Planning and Business Administration, and is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and an Associate Member of the NZPI. She is also an accredited Independent Commissioner with the chair certification. She takes a collaborative approach to chairing hearings panels, relates well to diverse stakeholders, understands Te Ao Māori and provides comprehensive decisions.
